The first aspect of the first limb of Yoga (Yama) is Ahimsa. Ahimsa means compassion for all living things.
The word ahimsa literally means not to injure or show cruelty to any creature or any person in any way whatsoever. Ahimsa is kindness, friendliness, and thoughtful consideration of other people, living beings and things. It is an attitude of doing no harm.
We believe that a good place to start or deepen the practice of Ahimsa in our daily life is to follow a vegan or vegetarian diet.
To cultivate this important aspect of yoga we will provide one vegan cooking class a day from Monday – Friday. In each class we will learn different dishes from different styles of cuisine, including vegan baking. It will be a lot of creative fun and at the same time very informative and health-wise.
Cooking demonstrations are combined with Ayurveda classes on “How to enhance your health with Ayurveda”
Here are a few photos from the years of vegan and vegetarian cooking demonstrations, during the Festivals of India
